The fine print, in plain words
What happens after my 12 months of updates?
Your license keeps working — every version released during your update window is yours forever. After 12 months you simply stop receiving new updates unless you choose to renew the update window. There is never a forced payment to keep editing.
Why is there no subscription?
Because there's nothing to meter. CutPilot is BYOK — AI calls run on your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key at provider cost, and silence detection runs locally on your machine. We don't carry per-use server costs, so we don't need to charge you monthly for them.
What does AI usage actually cost me?
Typical chat-driven edit sessions cost around $0.01–$0.10 of API usage on your provider account. Transcription of long footage costs more (roughly $0.006/minute of audio with OpenAI Whisper). Silence cutting is free — it never calls an AI at all. See the docs for details per provider.
Can I use one license on two computers?
Yes — every Pro license includes 2 seats. Activate on your workstation and your laptop; deactivate from the panel's Settings tab to free a seat when you change machines.
Do I need a card for the trial?
No. The 14-day trial starts on first run and requires no card and no account. When it ends you keep the free tier; nothing is charged because we never had a card to charge.
What are the requirements?
Adobe Premiere Pro 25.6 or later (the 2026 line) on macOS or Windows, plus the free CutPilot Helper app for media analysis. For chat and captions you'll want an API key from OpenAI, Anthropic or Google — see system requirements.
