How it works

Chat. Preview. Apply — one undo step.

CutPilot never fires blind edits at your sequence. Every batch operation follows the same safe loop.

Tell it what you want

Type a request in plain language — "cut my silences, caption in English and Spanish, then queue a 9:16 export." CutPilot reads a snapshot of your sequence and plans the edit with real timeline tools.

Review the plan preview

Before anything destructive happens you get a plan card: how many cuts, how much time removed, what changes where. Preview cut points as timeline markers first if you want to scrub them.

Apply as one undo step

Confirmed plans run as a single Premiere transaction. One Edit > Undo reverts the whole operation — clips, gaps and markers — and a readable changelog tells you exactly what was done.

Four tool families

Everything a rough cut needs, in one panel

Use them from chat or as one-click quick actions in the Tools tab.

Silence cutFree, unlimited

Local, deterministic silence detection — no AI credits, works offline. Tune threshold, minimum gap and padding, preview cuts as markers, then apply the whole cut list in one undo step. Filler-word and retake removal from the transcript included.

Captions & transcript

Uses Premiere's native transcript when available, or transcribes through your own OpenAI or Gemini key. Builds clean SRT captions, translates to multiple languages on Pro, and lets the agent quote, search and cut by what was said.

Effect presets & jump-cut cover

A curated library of named effect and color presets the agent applies reliably — plus automatic punch-in/zoom at cut points to hide jump cuts after a silence pass. Ask for a look in plain words; get consistent parameters.

Export

Configure and queue renders from chat — export presets, social-ready 9:16 and 1:1 output with loudness normalization handled by the local helper, and frame exports for thumbnails. Chain it: "cut silences, caption, then export a vertical short."

Bring your own key

Your media never touches our servers

CutPilot is BYOK: you plug in your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini API key.

Your AI providerOpenAI / Anthropic / Google — your account
CutPilot serverslicense keys only. Nothing else.

Your media and prompts go directly from your machine to YOUR OpenAI, Anthropic or Google account — our servers only ever see license keys. Audio analysis for silence cutting runs entirely on your computer via a local helper bound to localhost. API keys are stored in Premiere's secure storage, never in plain files, never uploaded. Ideal for client work under NDA.

Built for 2026

UXP-native, not legacy CEP

CutPilot is built on Premiere Pro's modern UXP plugin platform (Premiere Pro 25.6+, the 2026 line) — not the legacy CEP framework that Adobe has scheduled for removal. That means native performance, first-class secure key storage, and a plugin that keeps working as Premiere moves forward.

Works with Premiere, not against it

Native features, driven by the agent

CutPilot doesn't rebuild what Premiere already does well — it drives it. The agent reads Premiere's native transcripts for filler and retake removal, applies real timeline edits through official APIs, and wraps every batch in a genuine Premiere undo transaction.

Why CutPilot

A different deal than subscription AI plugins

Most AI editing tools rent you metered features. CutPilot inverts the model.

FAQ

Common questions

What does BYOK cost me per edit?

You pay your AI provider directly at their API rates — there is no markup and no CutPilot meter. A typical chat-driven edit session costs roughly $0.01–$0.10 in API usage; transcribing long footage costs more (for example OpenAI Whisper is $0.006 per audio minute). Silence cutting is analyzed locally and costs nothing. See getting an API key for per-provider details.

How does the free trial work?

Your first 14 days are the full Pro experience — every tool, no limits, no credit card. When the trial ends you drop to the free tier automatically (nothing is charged, nothing expires from your projects). The free tier keeps chat at 20 messages/day, unlimited silence cutting, captions for one language on sequences up to 10 minutes, and 5 starter presets.

How many machines can I use a Pro license on?

Each Pro license activates on 2 machines (for example your studio workstation and your laptop). You can deactivate a machine from the panel to free a seat when you move to new hardware.

Does CutPilot work offline?

Silence cutting and all timeline tools work fully offline — detection runs on your machine. Chat, captions and translation need internet access to reach your AI provider. Your Pro license tolerates being offline for a 14-day grace period between license checks before temporarily falling back to the free tier.

What data leaves my machine?

Only two kinds of traffic ever leave: (1) prompts, sequence metadata and — for captions — extracted audio go directly to the AI provider you configured, under your own account; (2) your license key and an anonymous machine fingerprint go to our license server for activation. Our servers never receive your media, your prompts, or your API keys. Full details in the docs FAQ.

Is it really not a subscription?

Correct. Pro is a one-time purchase that includes 12 months of updates. Your license keeps working after that — you just stop receiving new updates unless you choose to renew the update window. Because AI usage runs on your own key, there's no per-month platform fee to carry.
